Indian Hills Classic

Time and Place: The three-night, four-team tournament will have games at 5 and 7 p.m. tonight through Saturday at the Hellyer Student Life Center in Ottumwa. IHCC will play its opponent in the 7 p.m. game each night with the other two teams in the tournament playing at 5 p.m.

Radio: All IHCC games can be heard on KMGO (98.7 FM) beginning at approximately 6:40 p.m.

About Olive Harvey: The Panthers from Illinois provide the Warriors with the opposition for their first game of the 2006-07 season. Olive Harvey is 2-0 so far this year and are led by guard Darell Bullock, who is averaging 17.5 points per game. The Warriors beat Olive Harvey, 86-65, in the Bud Light Classic with Nestor Colmenares and Jamaal Smith leading the way with a team-high 23 points apiece.

Fort Scott on Friday: IHCC’s Friday opponent from Kansas have split their first two games of the season, losing to DMACC 64-59 before beating Hamilton 83-61 at the Hutchinson CC Classic. The Greyhounds went 16-14 last year, 10-8 in Region VI and feature what is considered the best backcourt duo Bateko Francisco, the returning leading scoring in the region, and Terrell Turner.

What about Westchester: The Westcos from New York will be in Ottumwa for the final game of the tournament against the Warriors. Westchester went 19-8 last season led by first-team all-region selection Rich Fields. IHCC last played Westchester at the 2002 Dixie State Tournament semifinals, winning 95-73 before falling to current IHCC head coach Jeff Kidder’s former team, Dixie State, in the championship game.
