Warrior spikers sweep Marshalltown

MARSHALLTOWN – Indian Hills recorded its second sweep of the season over Iowa Community College Athletic Conference foe Marshalltown on Wednesday night. The 19th-ranked Warriors won on the road in straight sets (25-10, 25-11, 25-5), improving to 15-8 on the year.

Head coach Lyndsey Michel sent in a season-high 14 players to compete against the Tigers.  Sophomores Brooke Amann, Precious Daley and Jarolin de los Santos led Indian Hills with eight kills apiece in the sweep.

As a team, the 19th-ranked Warriors boasted its single highest-match hitting percentage of the season with a .516 clip. Each of IHCC's three sophomores hit .583 or better.

Josi Schachle served as a spark off the bench for Indian Hills, collecting a season-high seven kills while hitting .600 on the night. Hennesys Lalane managed the offense with a team-high 34 assists to go along with three service aces.

The Warriors look to build off of Wednesday night's win at the upcoming Dennis South Memorial Classic in Council Bluffs on Friday. No. 19 Indian Hills takes on No. 10 New Mexico Military Institute, followed by a match with Monroe College, in consecutive matches at the Kanesville Arena starting at 5 p.m.
