MARSHALLTOWN — The Indian Hills Falcons secured a pair of doubleheader splits, winning the opening games of two regional twinbills against Marshalltown. IHCC split Monday's doubleheader on the road, winning 11-4 in game one before dropping a 10-4 decision in the finale of the four-game series.

Soren Graverson collected his third home run of the series during the opener, joining teammates Alex Fisher and Garrett Takamatsu in driving the ball out of the MCC ball park. Indian Hills putting Monday's opener away with a six-run rally in the seventh.

Takamatsu added her second home run of the series in the second game on Monday. Luis Menedez led the Tigers in the finale against the Falcons, driving in five runs while doubling and homering in the nightcap.

The Falcons split the first two games of the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference baseball doubleheader with Marshalltown on Saturday. IHCC scored eight unanswered runs in the opening contest, a 9-2 victory over the Tigers, before falling short in game two, 5-2, at Pat Daugherty Field.

Graverson paced the Falcon comeback from a 2-0 deficit in game one, driving in three runs while scoring three times. Graverson doubled and scored in the second inning, snapped a tie by scoring on a wild pitch in the fourth and capped a six-run rally in the fifth with a three-run home run.

Graverson's second home run of the day put IHCC on the board in the fifth inning of game two. Jake Kristenesen's RBI single in the sixth got the Falcons within 5-2, loading the bases with one out before a pop up by Brady Nowicki and a fly out by Jet Weber ended the threat.

Indian Hills (14-15, 5-3) will face Iowa Western this weekend in a key four-game series between the top two teams in the ICCAC. Before taking on the Reivers, IHCC will return home Wednesday for a non-conference matchup with Parkland College at 2 p.m.
