Spikers qualify for state

This past weekend, the Ottumwa-based “Spikers” youth volleyball team qualified for a state competition in March, winning a tournament at South Tama High School. The team, featuring youth players in grades 4-5, won the eight-team tournament after a hard-fought battle in the final two rounds going into a tiebreakers in both the semifinals and championship matches. By getting first at this tournament we qualified for the state tournament in March.
