DANVILLE — Selena Sayre had 19 kills, among those her 1,000th career kill, and had 11 digs as the fourth-ranked (Class 2A) Van Buren High School volleyball team swept Danville 25-10, 26-24, 15-6 in a SEI Superconference South Division match.
Taryn Scheuermann added 10 kills and eight blocks for Van Buren (15-2, 5-0 division). Isabel Manning had 26 digs in the win, while Grace Davidson was 32 of 33 serving with an ace.
Logan Schmitt had 21 assists for the Warriors, who are the top overall seed in the conference tournament and will compete in conference pool play Thursday in Burlington.

BLOOMFIELD — Abbey Griffin had 19 kills and Alex Beard had 23 assists and 12 digs to lead the Lady Dees to a South Central Conference road sweep.
Ashley Beary was 19 of 20 serving for Albia (18-4, 3-1 SCC), while Ellie Spurgin added 12 digs in the contest.
Albia hosts Chariton Tuesday.

EDDYVILLE — The Rockets went toe-to-toe with the eighth-ranked team in Class 4A, but couldn’t close out the match and dropped the final two games in a South Central Conference contest.
Brooke Shafer had 19 kills and Grace Roberts added 11 for the Rockets, while Ellie Breon tossed up 28 assists and Emalee Davis added 32 digs.
“Our girls played one of their best matches. We were so close to winning, but just couldn’t pull out the fifth set,” EBF coach Gladys Genskow said. “I couldn’t have asked for more hustle than they put forth. They fought for every point. We now need to build on this match, learn from the loss and keep moving forward to get better.”
EBF (7-12, 2-1 SCC) hosts Oskaloosa for Senior Night Monday.

MOUNT PLEASANT — Four of the five games were decided by a total of nine points, but the Trojans lost the final three games in a Southeast Conference road setback.
Olivia Jones had 10 kills, six blocks and was 23 of 25 serving with six aces, while Lily Hoskins had 13 assists, 20 digs and three ace serves. Olivia McClaran had a team-high 24 digs for the Trojans.
Fairfield (2-13, 1-3 SCC), which has lost 11 straight matches, competes in the Iowa City Liberty tournament Saturday.
